The project client is Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica, a major publicly traded Russian company and part of the OMZ Advanced Technologies Group, a leader in the Russian engineering market. For over 22 years, the company has been providing comprehensive engineering systems solutions for industry and infrastructure, including electric lighting, voltage distribution, electric heating, and equipment for the oil and gas sector. The new office is designed as a workspace and demonstration environment for clients and partners. Nearly all spaces integrate the client's own lighting and engineering solutions, applicable to commercial and public spaces. The office is designed to comfortably accommodate up to 100 employees. Business Challenge: The relocation was necessary due to the company's growth and the formation of new divisions. The previous space no longer met the functional and organizational requirements: an increase in the number of workstations, the creation of meeting areas of various formats, and the allocation of demonstration and representative spaces were required. The project was implemented under tight deadlines and with the building's unique architectural features—the building's curved geometry and continuous panoramic glazing—affecting the acoustics of the space. The building's shape determined not only the interior but also the layout. The space is organized around a central core and is divided into functional blocks with intuitive navigation. The office includes two open-plan offices, a guest reception area, a closed office block, and a fully isolated executive block with its own entrance and waiting area. Currently, 90 assigned workstations are provided, with the potential to expand to 100. For visual privacy, bench systems are separated from the aisles by pedestals with living plants, which simultaneously contribute to the space's microclimate. Meeting areas of varying capacities are accessible from both open-plan offices. A dining room is located in the corner section with panoramic glazing, adjacent to which a hybrid lounge area has been organized for informal communication and internal events. If necessary, this space can be adapted for additional workstations. Both wings of the office are equipped with coffee stations with water filtration systems. A special feature is the radial furniture unit with a print zone and coffee station, which wraps around the central core and supports the overall flow of the space. The utility infrastructure is integrated into the office's daily use: meeting rooms are equipped with built-in audio and video systems, an electronic booking system is in place, seamless Wi-Fi, mobile signal boosting, and automated lighting control tailored to various work scenarios. Given the significant proportion of glazing, special attention was paid to acoustic comfort. The project utilizes a variety of sound-absorbing materials, including wood fiber panels, suspended baffles, and felt. Design Concept: The business center is located adjacent to the Huaming Landscape Park (translated as "the best of China"), which served as the starting point for the concept, which references Taoist philosophy. The space is built on a combination of natural textures, a warm color palette, and precise geometry. The central element of the interior is a distinctive, meaningful "core," around which the main spatial structure is formed. A colored floor covering, known as a "path," encircles it in a closed loop, evoking the idea of movement and continuous development. The lighting solutions support and expand on this idea: ceiling lights arranged along the route visually reference electrical cables, directly linking the space's image to the company's profile. The central, three-strip, radial light, encircling the core without visible joints, was designed and implemented by the client. The composition features circular motifs as a symbol of integrity, as well as the soft, fluid lines of the furniture, supporting the overall flow of the space. To enhance acoustic comfort, a wall of 3D felt panels with a geometric pattern, into which a marker surface is integrated, is provided. Light, neutral tones form the basis of the color scheme. The muted terracotta color of the core serves as a focal point, echoing the company's signature identity while also serving as an intuitive navigation element. The furniture is made by local manufacturers.
