This is, without exaggeration, a serious step in the development of the region's tourism sector, noted Governor Mikhail Evraev. - Over the past 2 years, we have doubled the number of overnight tourists in the Yaroslavl region. Literally 2 years ago there were 1 million 600 thousand. Now there are already 2,900 thousand - these are overnight tourists, that is, almost 3 million, with excursionists - this is 9 million, - said the Governor of the Yaroslavl region Mikhail Evraev. The head of the region and other honored guests were shown the interiors of the new hotel: 15 rooms, a conceptual restaurant, banquet and conference halls. - This is a certain bar. We say that today we have all the ranges of hotel accommodation options, including five-star hotels. And, of course, this will give, firstly, growth to the entire hospitality industry of our city, - commented the mayor of Yaroslavl Artem Molchanov. It is symbolic that life was given to the long-awaited project in the building that itself gave life to thousands of Yaroslavl residents, the former maternity hospital. The building itself, built in the 17th century, was rebuilt three times, and is now considered a monument of federal significance. Only the basement remained in its original form. Since the early 2000s, the building was not used and was falling into disrepair. The investor, the company "Yaroslavl Technical Carbon named after Vadim Orlov", invested 750 million rubles in the project. - We have been working towards the implementation of this project for many years and, finally, we have succeeded. There was a large friendly team of professionals. This is not all we want to do. We still have a huge project of capital repairs of the Yubileinaya Hotel ahead of us, - said Alexander Orlov, General Director of JSC V. Yu. Orlov YaTU. As for Lastochka, the name for the hotel was chosen by Vadim Yuryevich Orlov. After all, the embankment where the hotel is now located appeared in the film Cruel Romance by Eldar Ryazanov 40 years ago.
